New Communication Methods

Posted on March 18, 2020 in: General News

Father Peter has gotten our parish set up with Flocknotes as a method of mass communication. He sent out his first message the evening of March 17th. Dear Parishioners,       Yesterday morning, as I stood outside the Church informing people that the Archbishop had suspended the public celebration of Mass, Liturgy of the Hours, and other group services, Bible studies, and activities, I couldn’t help asking myself if this was really necessary. Afterall, the state of Missouri has less then 20 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, no one in our parish seems to be affected, and I feel completely healthy. As I wrestled with that question in my mind as a priest, bioethicist, and human person, I was brought back to the day of my ordination to the priesthoo...

When I was ordained a priest, I made a promise of respect and obedience to the archbishop. In that spirit of obedience and in accordance with this mandate, I will continue to offer Holy Mass daily, but in private, and will still hear Confessions on Saturday evening at 4:00 pm, but only from behind t...

Father Gerber and many parishioners left for the Holy Land earlier this week. Father Gerber requested that the parish pray daily for them: Prayer for our Parishioners and Priest on Pilgrimage Heavenly Father, Please bless our priest and parishioners as they travel to the Holy Places where your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, lived and healed and preached and died and rose. Bless then with safe and peaceful travels; a deepening faith and a renewed spiritual life; and a holy vigor for evangualization so that, when they return, we too may be blessed by the Good News which they bring and the ...

CAUTION: BOGUS EMAILS & TEXTS

Posted on April 26, 2019 in: General News

WARNING! In the Parish Offices and throughout the Diocese we have been dealing with scam artists sending us emails pretending to be our priest for a couple of years... then a few parishioners started getting them. Now scammers have turned to sending text messages pretending that they are coming from our Priest or Deacons. These scammers are truly shameless and relentless in their pursuits to get you to buy gift cards, etc. Our St. Theodore Clergy will never use email or texts in this manner.
