MARRIAGE
Congratulations on your engagement!
God has called you to something beautiful. He designed the Sacrament of Marriage to reveal his love, to bring joy to you, to unite you in a family, and to bless the Church as a whole. Through your vows, Jesus will consecrate your love so that your love for each other is a sharing in his love for the Church. He will pour into your souls the grace to love one another faithfully, generously, and sacrificially throughout your lives, just as he lived.
Because marriage is such a sacred vocation, we ask couples to spend time preparing not only for the wedding day but even more importantly for the lifelong marriage that follows. This preparation includes meetings with a priest or deacon, completion of a marriage preparation program, and time to pray and reflect together.
Since marriage preparation normally takes at least six months, we ask that you contact the priest or deacon you desire to witness your marriage as soon as you become engaged. This allows plenty of time to begin the preparation process and to schedule your wedding date.
We look forward to walking with you as you prepare for this joyful vocation and pray that God richly blesses your marriage!
